Hear Snippet Of Amy Lee’s ‘Voice From The Stone’ Song, “Speak To Me”

Back in 2015, Amy Lee recorded a new song called “Speak To Me” for a film, Voice From The Stone. The movie was shot in the regions of Tuscany and Lazio in Italy in late 2014. The following August, Amy Lee joined the crew to compose a song. She recorded it that month, and in October 2015, Amy filmed a music video for “Speak To Me” in Tuscany.

While we still don’t have the music video, or even the full song, we can hear a new snippet of “Speak To Me” from the new trailer for Voice From The Stone. It’s a lovely piano-driven ballad that’s as moody as the film looks. Listen for it in the new movie trailer below:

This is the second preview we’ve heard of the song. Last April, Amy shared a bit of the song’s recording process at Skywalker Ranch.

Voice From The Stone is a supernatural psychological thriller directed by Eric D. Howell. It is based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Silvio Raffo. Andrew Shaw wrote the script, and the film stars Emilia Clark. Voice From The Stone is scheduled for release on April 28th. Be sure to watch the film once it’s available in your area!

Amy Lee has been keeping busy the last few years, and “Speak To Me” is one of many film projects she’s tackled. In 2014, she released her first solo album, Aftermath. It was comprised of music she wrote for the indie film, War Story. Amy has done some more film scoring, and has a few songs in some upcoming movies. In addition to “Speak To Me” from Voice From The Stone, Amy also has a song for the forthcoming film Blind called “Through Your Eyes.”

Early last year, Amy released a 4-song EP of covers she recorded. In September, she also released a children’s album. Dream Too Much includes both original compositions and covers that Amy recorded it with her family for her young son, Jack. Last month, Amy also released a solo song called “Love Exists,” a reworking of “L’amore esiste” by the Italian singer Francesca Michielin. Incidentally, Amy discovered this song when she was working on “Speak To Me.”

In addition to her film scoring, covers, and children’s albums, Amy is also working on new Evanescence music again. While on tour last fall, the band debuted a new song called “Take Cover”. The band also just released a vinyl boxset of all their albums – including Origin. It comes with new recordings of “Even In Death” and their tour intro, “Lost Whispers”. Amy admits that Evanescence is working on new music, though it may not come in the form of an album. She’s secretive so far, but hopefully we’ll hear more in 2017.

There’s plenty going on for both Evanescence and Amy Lee solo. Keep checking back for all the latest music news. Stay tuned for more about “Speak To Me,” and be sure to see Voice From The Stone in April.
