Some have said that 2018 was the Year of the Woman. And so, as the year comes to a close, we’re celebrating women. Our new playlist highlights some of the leading ladies in music, and the vigorous voices that have been instrumental in their lives. Whether they belt it out or croon low and soft, these singers show confidence and strength in every song.
Our playlist covers a range of years and genres. We’ve got golden era divas like Aretha Franklin and Etta James bringing old-school soul. We then move into the ’70s and ’80s with the likes of ABBA, Tina Turner, Madonna, and Heart. Of course, we represent the 1990s with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, and Shakira.
Moving into the 21st century, we hear from powerhouses like Kelly Clarkson, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, and Sara Bareilles. Newer talents like Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey take us to today, as well as some newcomers you may not have heard yet.
These women in music demonstrate the power of a special instrument: the voice. So let their music inspire you to use your voice more this year. Enjoy this spectrum of genres and vocal talent, all in one star-studded playlist. From legends to newcomers, these women in music will inspire and empower. Or at least make you want to rock out and dance.
