Katy Perry “Chained To The Rhythm” of Futuristic Theme Park Music Video
Two weeks ago, Katy Perry released “Chained To The Rhythm,” the first single from her upcoming fifth album. The thought-provoking song describes social issues we face today but maybe don’t notice. The new music video – out today – also portrays our oblivion as we live in our bubble.
The “Chained To The Rhythm” video creates a sort of dystopia, set in a futuristic theme park with an oddly 1950s vibe. Katy Perry enters the amusement park – aptly named “Oblivia” – and enjoys the rides and giant cotton candy with too-happy swarms of people around her. Everyone smiles relentlessly, hypnotized by the crazy roller coasters and 3D videos. Eventually, Katy starts to notice how fake it all seems when Skip Marley steps out of the movie screen. Unfortunately, Katy seems to be the only one who knows.
