Lana Del Rey Is Getting “High By The Beach” With New ‘Honeymoon’ Single

Though we got to hear “Honeymoon” a few weeks ago, the first official single from Lana Del Rey’s upcoming album is the newly released “High By The Beach.” Lana is revisiting some elements found in her major label debut, Born To Die, and if you liked her incorporation of hip hop and trap in some of her earlier songs, “High By The Beach” will be right up your alley. As Lana told Zane Lowe on her Beats 1 Radio interview this morning, “High By The Beach” was one of the last songs she recorded for Honeymoon:

It started with the chorus. I was driving by the beach a lot. This was probably one of the last ones on the record. It had an Andrews Sisters vibe. Even with the harmonies it almost sounded monotone. It had this weird drone to it, but with this beat it had a trap aspect.

Lana Del Rey’s upcoming album, Honeymoon, is tentatively expected out in September. The album will feature 14 songs, including “High By The Beach” and the previously released title track. Lana has also stated that a song called “Music To Watch Boys To” and a cover of “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” will make the final track listing.

You can buy the “High By The Beach” single on iTunes now. More details about Honeymoon should be announced in the coming weeks. For now, you can read up on all we know about Lana Del Rey’s new album. Keep checking back here for all the latest music news.
