Kelly Clarkson Shows Supportive Side On Sia-Penned “Let Your Tears Fall”
Kelly Clarkson Week doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down yet. What started as a 5-day literal Piece By Piece release has grown into something bigger. It looks like MTV is in on the game now, and they will be sharing additional songs each day until the album drops on March 3rd.
Kicking things off is MTV’s premiere of “Let Your Tears Fall,” another song co-written by Sia. Whereas Sia’s “Invincible” was the last song Kelly cut for her album, “Let You Tears Fall” was the very first one she recorded. She got it way back in summer 2013 when she was on tour with Maroon 5.
“Let Your Tears Fall” is an encouraging song in which Kelly promises that she’ll be there for you through thick and thin. She’s offering a shoulder to cry on and to help you get through your pain. It’s an uptempo anthem that nearly anyone can relate to. Kelly sings quickly in this song, but the supportive and caring lyrics shine through.

How did you come to record “Let Your Tears Fall”?
It was the very first song I recorded for the album. I recorded it while on tour with Maroon 5,which was a couple of years ago. I loved the song. I got it from Greg [Kurstin], my producer, and he works a lot with Sia. Her project had just finished and he told me they wrote this song and wanted me to hear it. I fell in love with it! I just love the message. It’s about having that person in your life —or people in your life— who can be a shoulder to cry on, or if you want to bitch about something, or anything. So I love having those people in your life, and this song is for that person.
Piece By Piece will be out on March 3rd, but it looks like we’ll get to hear plenty of songs before then! Following the lead single “Heartbeat Song,” we’ve also gotten to hear 4 promo tracks so far – if you pre-order the album on iTunes, you’ll get them as instant downloads. “Invincible,” “Piece By Piece,” the John Legend duet “Run Run Run,” and today’s “Take You High” are all available now.
