Muse’s 7th Album Being Produced By Robert John “Mutt” Lange

Earlier this month, Muse officially started recording their follow up to 2012’s The 2nd Law. The band has eagerly been sharing updates from the studio, and just revealed some exciting news: Their 7th album will be produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange!

“We are honoured to be making our new album with this legendary producer. #backinblack” (Oct. 23)

Mutt Lange is a legendary producer behind some of the biggest albums in history. He produced AC/DC’s album, Back In Black, which is one of the best selling albums of all time. Mutt Lange also produced Shania Twain’s Come On Over, the best selling album by a solo female artist of any genre. He’s also produced other AC/DC and Shania Twain albums, plus records by bands such as Maroon 5, Nickelback, and Def Leppard.

Muse’s next album is expected to be a back-to-basics return to form, with a heavier sound and less of the electronics and orchestral work that were present on their last few records. In addition to announcing this album’s producer, Muse has also shared some other fun behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram:

“It’s sounding (ph)at..” (Oct. 10)

“Waiting for Dom to work out his fill ins, could be a while” (Oct. 13)
