Hilary Duff – Best Of Hilary Duff

On November 8, 2008, Hilary Duff released her second compilation album, Best Of Hilary Duff. Though it still seemed premature for a greatest hits collection, Best Of included all of Hilary’s most successful and remembered singles. It also included two new songs. “Reach Out” was the first single, with a more sexual theme than any of Hilary’s prior songs. It was written by Ryan Tedder, Evan Bogart, and Mika Guillory, and samples Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus.” Hilary had sang “Reach Out” during her tour in 2007, and it was originally intended for inclusion on a re-release of Dignity. The other new song, “Holiday,” was co-written by Hilary and her sister Haylie. It is a highlight on the album and of Hilary’s career overall; it’s a shame “Holiday” was not a single as originally planned. Unbeknownst to fans, Best Of Hilary Duff would be the last album from Hilary for seven years. Instead, Hilary took a long hiatus to get married, start a family, and get to know herself without all the limelight. It wasn’t until 2014-2015 that Hilary was ready to start up part two of her music career.
