Fall Out Boy’s Next Single Inspired By ‘The NeverEnding Story’
At the end of April, Fall Out Boy released their wild new single, “Young And Menace,” off their upcoming album, M A N I A. Now, bassist and main lyricist Pete Wentz is already talking about the next single, due out later this month. He didn’t reveal the new single’s name, but he did explain the inspiration behind it: The 1984 film, The NeverEnding Story. He elaborates in his new Instagram post:
Our next song will be out towards the end of the month. But I really started to think that this one really reminds me of this moment in The NeverEnding Story. It always stuck out to me as a kid – first they’re like, “wait, you’re just a kid lol we need a warrior,” then they’re like, “ok, you’ll do, I guess you’ll do,” and then, “no one can help you and if you don’t do this our entire world dies, so no pressure”. (Shoutout to the face Atreyu makes after the guy is like, “our whole world will be destroyed.”) No one believes but at the same time we all need to believe in you. End of the month can’t come soon enough. ? This one is for the kid warriors out there hunting the purple buffalo…
The new single will be out later this month.
M A N I A won’t be out until September 15th, but you can pre-order the album on Fall Out Boy’s official site now. They’re offering a few different vinyl and CD bundles, so be sure to check them out. You can also pre-order M A N I A on iTunes.
If you like live music, get ready for the band’s upcoming fall tour! Fall Out Boy will trek across the US and Canada this October and November. Additional tour dates for the rest of the world will likely be announced soon. Check out all dates and tickets before it’s too late!
