Adele Performs New Ballad “When We Were Young”

Adele’s highly-anticipated new album, 25, will be out later this week. It was preceded by her single “Hello,” but now we have one more taste of the new music ahead of its Friday release. “When We Were Young” is Adele’s favorite song on the album and the only one she co-wrote with Tobias Jesso Jr. She performed it live in Church Studios along with a full band, including backup singers to fill out the sound. Paul Dugdale directed the video.

Adele compares her earlier life to movies and songs, and describes how she went from restless to reckless as time passed. It’s a beautiful ballad, and a good preview of her upcoming album. Watch the “When We Were Young” studio performance below:

Adele’s new album 25 will be out on November 20th. You can pre-order it on iTunes now and get an instant download of first single “Hello.” An exclusive Target edition of the album will include three bonus tracks. Keep checking back here for all the latest Adele music news.
