Lana Del Rey Shares “Music To Watch Boys To” From New Album, ‘Honeymoon’

“Music To Watch Boys To” is the first Honeymoon song title that Lana Del Rey revealed a year ago, and the song has gotten plenty of hype in the months since. It’s the number one song fans have been desperate to hear, and now “Music To Watch Boys To” is finally out for all to enjoy, a week ahead of Honeymoon‘s release. Out of the four songs we’ve heard from Honeymoon so far, this may be our favorite.

The song has rich instrumentation – listen for the flute – and conjures up vivid images. It fits Lana’s description of “Music To Watch Boys To” from earlier this year: The song “lends itself to a visual of shadows of men passing by, this girl’s eyes, her face. I can definitely see things.” There is something old-fashioned and exotic about “Music To Watch Boys To,” fitting with themes introduced in “Honeymoon.”

On Facebook today, Lana also shared her opinion of the new song:

“Music To Watch Boys To” is one of my favourite songs from the record, I love the 30 second a cappella beginning. Reminds me of what Les Baxter would’ve had as a bonus track on Jewels of the Sea. I also adore the video that’s coming out for it soon and the beautiful underwater girls.

The music video will be out soon. In the meantime, listen to “Music To Watch Boys To” below:

Honeymoon will be released next week on September 18th. You can pre-order it on iTunes now and get instant downloads of the title track, new single “High By The Beach,” “Terrence Loves You,” and now “Music To Watch Boys To.” While you enjoy those four songs and wait for the remaining ten, you can read up on all we know about the new album.
