Album Of The Week: Wrapped In Red

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and what better way to lift your spirits than with a good holiday album! Wrapped In Red is Kelly Clarkson’s first Christmas album, and one that is on its way to becoming a holiday classic. It came out in October last year, and ended up being the best selling holiday album of 2013. Its lead single, “Underneath The Tree,” was also a big hit, and deserves to become an annual classic a la “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Give it time, and you’ll notice it on all the radios in years to come.

Kelly decided to record not just well loved classics, but also self-penned originals as well. She wrote “Wrapped In Red,” “Underneath The Tree,” “Every Christmas,” “Winter Dreams (Brandon’s Song),” and “4 Carats.” As it so happens, these are 5 of the highlights on this merry little album. Each one describes a different point in Kelly’s personal life, going from being single and lonely during the holidays, to finding love and happiness later on.

Other highlights include her covers of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “Run Run Rudolph,” “My Favorite Things,” and “White Christmas.”

Turn up the tunes and enjoy this holiday season! Wrapped In Red is sure to warm up you spirits as the temperatures drop, and your family and friends will be just as cheerful as you when they hear these songs.
